Everyone located near the big bend of Florida stay safe our tropical storm has just been upgraded to a category 1 hurricane and may get even higher! We are getting hit right now with onslaughts of non-stop rain. Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough has essentially been flooded. We won't know the true effects till later tonight early tommorow morning since that is when it will hit. Our schools were closed today and may likely be closed tommorow as well. Thankfully I am not near the eye of the storm but we are still close enough to get hit with huge storm surges, rain and wind, we were under tornado warning for awhile. So if you live in Florida on the coast please stay safe and take caution.

Fun fact: This will be the first Hurricane to make landfall in Florida since hurricane Wilma in 2005!

You're in the path today, I'm in the path tomorrow :P I've gone to the store so I'm all prepped! I know schools are already canceled - not too sure if I'll have to open the store tomorrow but at least it's only two miles from my home!

You stay safe, too!

I've been through my share of hurricanes (Louisiana here), and I know how rough they can be. I hope everyone stays safe!

I've been thinking about you guys. I hope you didn't get hit too badly! I have a cousin in Daytona Beach and she said they hardly got anything from it. On the other hand, my mom has an old friend in Georgia who said they got 4 inches of rain and lost power for a few hours.

We're under a tropical storm warning right now here in southern NY (nothing's happened yet, in fact the sun is still out, but it should all start some time tomorrow). Doesn't sound like it will be anywhere near as bad as Sandy was, but the main concern is the storm surge right along the water. There are a lot of people living in those areas, so hopefully they're taking some precautions.
